- WHAT IS AUCTION ADVANTAGE?
It’s Canada’s first daily newspaper silent auction ever and it’s back by popular demand. For a period of five (5) consecutive days, Chronicle Journal readers can bid on merchandise and services, realizing substantial savings. - HOW DOES IT WORK?
Rather than a live auction, Auction Advantage is a silent auction. Instead of an auctioneer taking bids, there is an Auction Trust Committee (ATC) that oversees the bidding process. Instead of people trying to outbid each other one after another, people submit their bid and the ATC acts on their behalf and submits bids for them according to a predetermined set of rules. When the auction is complete, the person who has submitted the highest bid will buy the item for that amount. - ARE THESE ALL NEW ITEMS?
Yes! All items in Auction Advantage are brand new (unless otherwise stated) and come with applicable warranties, just as if you purchased the item direct from a retailer. The selling prices listed throughout this program reflect the actual retail prices of their respective items.
