Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Ingredients: 

1 lb. ground cooked ham
1 lb. ground pork
2 cups dry breadcrumbs
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup milk
1 tsp. salt

Sauce:
1 ½ cups brown sugar
¾ cup water
¾ cup vinegar
1 tbsp dry mustard

Combine first six ingredients, mixing well. Shape into 1” balls. Place in baking dish. Mix sauce ingredients. Pour over balls. Bake uncovered in 325 degree oven for 40 minutes. Baste often. Fasten slice of Gherkin with coloured toothpick. Serve. Makes 48 to 60 meatballs.
