Contenders fight for top job

As the 2010 municipal election campaign heads into the home stretch, The Chronicle-Journal can help voters decide how they might mark their ballot.
As the city’s most trusted source for information, The Chronicle-Journal will again stage a debate involving the candidates for the office of Mayor of Thunder Bay. The debate will take place at the Community Auditorium on Tuesday, Oct. 19, beginning at 7 p.m.
Invitations to the forum have been extended to all six individuals who have filed papers in the mayoral race: Colin Burridge, Keith Hobbs, Jeff Irwin, Brian Kwasny, Lynn Peterson and Frank Pullia.
The forum will feature a media panel consisting of Ian Pattison of The Chronicle-Journal, Leith Dunick of Dougall Media, Vic Krasowski of The Giant/Magic, and Lisa Laco of CBC Radio. The Chronicle-Journal’s Publisher and General Manager Colin Bruce will moderate the evening.
There will also be question-and-answer sessions, where voters will have the opportunity to directly address the candidates.
The election forum will also be taped by Shaw Cable for broadcast at a later date. The event will, however, be available live via the Internet at www.chroniclejournal.com.
More information on the forum will be available in the days leading up to the event.
