In favour — green energy is the way to go
No way, not in our backyard
Well, it might spur much needed economic development

EDMONTON - Caroline Ouellette scored three times as Canada’s national women’s hockey team beat the Edmonton South Side Athletic Club of the Alberta Midget Hockey League 6-1 Thursday.

Sarah Vaillancourt, Marie-Philip Poulin and Haley Irwin also scored for the Canadian women, who improved their Midget Series record to 7-3.

The games against the women’s national team count in the AMHL standings for the midget teams.

Derek Johnston opened the scoring for SSAC in the first on the power play before the Canada roared back with three of their own to close out the period.

After a scoreless second, Ouellette completed her hat trick in the third, with Irwin’s goal sandwiched in between.

Meaghan Mikkelson had three assists, while Hayley Wickenheiser and Jennifer Wakefield had two each.

The Canadian women continue their Midget Series schedule Friday night with a game in Leduc, Atla.
