Chipping away

Lisa Parr, a carousel restoration specialist, spoke at City Hall on Tuesday and explained the progress on the delicate work that is being done on the restoration of the Chippewa Park carousel horses.

Work is underway in the restoration of 14 of the 28 horses from the 103-year-old Chippewa park carousel and things are literally “up to par.”

Lisa Parr, a carousel restoration specialist, has been writing a manual for the city outlining the restoration specifics that are required for the proper restoration of the historical ride.

Parr visited with the woodcraft design restoration crew this week to check on the progress and to host a workshop on the proper care of the carousel with Chippewa Park staff.
