Olympics for hairdressers

Adrian Minella from Trenz Hair Studio competed at the OMC Hair World 2016 in Seoul, South Korea. He, along with four others, were representing Canada.

It’s almost like the Olympics but for hairdressers, with over 40 countries, 1,000 competitors and 100,000 spectators. In the competition, a designer came up with a look for his model — from clothing to makeup and hair colour — and then Adrian had to go on the competition floor and complete this haircut in only 30 minutes. When all judging was complete they announced the winners, and from Canada, Adrian came out with the bronze medal.

This is a first-ever achievement to come out of Thunder Bay.
