Thunder Bay police issued an alert Friday about a rash of fentanyl overdoses and drug-related deaths occurring in the city.
Fentanyl, one of the most dangerous drugs used by addicts, is often sold on the street as pink down. Provincial police issued a similar bulletin last week in the Kenora district.
“An investigation has revealed (the) deaths are likely the result of a supply of a pink-coloured fentanyl-based drug known as pink down or pink dizzy,” a Thunder Bay Police Service news release said.
