Mural project could be just start

Artist Cash Akoza takes a break from painting his wall mural Thursday afternoon.

Last winter, Winnipeg artist Cash Akoza walked into The Hub Bazaar on a whim. That chance visit was a meeting of the minds with Hub Bazaar owner Lori Paras.

Six months later Akoza is back with spray can in hand working on a mural on the back of the Victoria Avenue business.

“I have been visiting Thunder Bay for a few years and I spent a lot of time in Fort William and I just saw so many blank walls,” said Akoza, while taking a break from the painting project, Thursday.

“I basically want to spread some colour and healing around the area.”

Akoza’s feels “the brighter the better” as he sprayed bright rainbow like swaths of colour that are the base of his design.
