Pineapple delight

Thunder Bay Botanical Conservatory worker Wanda Blackwell checks a pineapple that is growing at the top of the waterfall. As far as staff knows, this is the first pineapple to develop in the conservatory in more that 25 years. Staff members experimented with cross pollination years ago to no avail. During regular maintenance this week, staff were delighted to find the lone baby pineapple. The tiny reddish fruit will not head to the table in a dessert, but will remain growing in the conservatory.
