THUMBS Up to Cheryl at the Kakabeka post office for making sure that all the children’s letters to Santa in the area get answered. “Job well done! Merry Christmas to you and yours.”

THUMBS Up to the Current River Churches Christmas Carol Sing in support of the churches’ Food Cupboard. “In addition to donations to the food cupboard, attendees enjoy wonderful music and fellowship with some delicious treats thrown in. Each year Arlene and the Current River Community Centre host this event which provides much-needed help to the food cupboard. Thank you to Arlene and to everyone who participates.”

THUMBS Up to those who helped our daughter in a recent car accident on River Street: “The kind woman who lives across from Metro for offering a warm place for her and the other driver to wait for police; the professional and empathetic officers who attended, thank you for your kindness; and the other driver, thank you for expressing how sorry you were. These things happen. Not fun to meet ‘by accident’ but you all helped make a stressful situation less stressful.”

THUMBS Up to everyone involved in the Parade of Lights. “Thank you to the Thunder Bay Police Association, presenting sponsor Tbaytel, the parade committee, and all the other sponsors and supporters for an incredible event! A special Thumbs Up to city Transit for decorating a bus for the children and families of George Jeffrey Children’s Centre. Thank you to all the volunteers who collected donations on behalf of the charities, and thank you to our community for supporting this parade once again. Happy Holidays.”

THUMBS Up to people who decorate outdoor Christmas trees. “Special mention of Connaught Park across from Waverley Library and trees on Winnipeg Avenue. You brighten our dark nights. Thank you.”
